KORN Guitarist To Perform Acoustically At Bassist's Wedding
April 28, 2006KORN guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer has told Launch Radio Networks that he will have another chance to play acoustically a little later this spring at the wedding of KORN bassist Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu. "I'm actually gonna play Spanish guitar," he said. "He asked me to play, so I'm gonna play nylon string Spanish guitar for him, and do the wedding dum-dum-de-dum, and then after that I'll get drunk (laughs)."
KORN performed acoustically for the first time in their career when they played on AOL's "Acoustic Sessions" program (watch the performance online at this location). Singer Jonathan Davis said of the band's decision to do the show, "When that was first brought up to us, I was like, 'Hell no,' but then I got more into it. I thought it would be cool because what we did with the new album, we didn't want to set any kind of boundaries of what KORN should be."
KORN will release a collection of rare and concert tracks on May 9 called "Live and Rare".
